So the first stage of the game must be the gathering of information. This means that you can make a call with nothing in hand after river just to see what he was playing with.

Every player follows some kind of pattern, of course in real life it's much easier to know what the other player has, because there are so much more tells. With online poker the poker tells become less obvious which of course means that they also become much more important.

I will give you some of the easiest online poker tells, that mostly apply to every player in poker. First of all, it's the size of the bet. That is the most important poker tell in online poker. People think that they have a very different way of betting hands pre-flop or post-flop, yet they deceive themselves. Only the best can consciously change their game style so completely that they leave you wondering.

I advise you - spend some time playing heads up with a guy and just watch his bet size. After a while, it will become clear what types of hands he raises pre-flop and to what amount of chips. Most people raise three times the big blinds with any playable hand, yet sometimes they raise four big blinds. Why do they do that? What happened? Now usually they've got a hand that is not so playable, like, AK or AQ or QQ. The decision to raise slightly higher amount of chips than usual, is made subconsciously for most people.

The same goes for post-flop play. Observe how your opponent plays hands post-flop. Some people will slow-play good hands, some on the other side will bet it out with big bets. The more you play with one opponent the easier it will be to tell exactly what type of hand he is playing with.

If you are playing with an aggressive player, just allow him to bet your winner hand - don't scare him off with huge bets. If you are playing with a calling station who just likes to call every bet with second best pair and no kicker value whatsoever, continue betting, but observe how much he is willing to call, don't scare him off. If you are playing versus passive player, just bet. If he has nothing, he will fold, if he has something, he will call or raise. Just don't get too aggressive, because if he chooses to play a hand, it will probably be quite good.

What is more important - head up games will definitely raise your poker read skills, which later on you will have less problems of applying in games with more people.

Heads up poker is much less dependent on luck, because basically to win in poker heads up game, you have to gather information about player and use it against him. Of course there will be times when unlucky river cards will come up, but the more good decisions you make, the more you will win.

If you are unsure of yourself in heads up play, I would suggest Sit and Go heads ups. At least with them you know exactly how much money to invest in one game, but on the other side you will have less time of discovering your opponents play, because blinds are rising up and chips are finite amount. But I would still suggest giving it a go.

http://100kpoker.com/?cat=7

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Adrians_Imsa
http://EzineArticles.com/?Poker-Tips---Heads-Up-Play&id=1622905

The Poker Store Online.
Poker Store

Poker Chip Giveaways

By Thom Riemersma

Many poker chip players will do little tricks with the chips while they play. They will shuffle, stack, flip and twirl them. Finally when it comes to betting they will either place them in and orderly fashion or fling them down. A keen observer will be able to see subtle changes that can make you money. Here are some tips to help you.

Wait for Them to Stop

There is one or two in every game you play. The player is constantly shuffling their chips. They seem to have a pattern of betting shuffling and folding those chips! However observe closely when there is an unexpected stop in the activity, after a bet. When this happens it is very possible that they do not have a winning hand and are not expecting cash out.

When people have made hands they're relaxed. Chances are they'd shuffle on with a made hand. The fact that they've stopped shuffling their poker chips shows that they're nervous. They don't want you to call. In this situation, raise. I'm willing to bet they fold.

Splashing the Pot

This tell can be a little trickier. There are people out there who splash the pot because they like the sound it makes. What you're looking for however, is someone who's been putting their poker chips in nice neat stacks and placing them in the pot. When this person suddenly sends a hailstorm of poker chips into the pot something's up.

Always keep in mind the fact that poker is not always what it appears. Therefore when you see this quiet player play wildly you can be pretty sure that they are bluffing you. Call their bluff and raise your bet. If you are wrong you will know what they are up to next time they turn wild.

Poker chip tells aren't about looking for something a player does habitually. The best tells are breaks in a player's usual pattern. If someone has been doing something throughout the game and suddenly their behavior changes then something is up. It may be worth a few bucks to find out what that change means.

As you play you will notice the people who love playing with those chips. They practice new tricks at home until playing around with their chips is just a habit with them. When they get into a predicament they unconsciously stop playing with their chips. This is when you can cash in big.

If you are in need of either 1000 poker chips or are in need of a http://www.elitepokerchips.com/ clay poker chip set, Thom Riemersma recommends that you visit http://www.elitepokerchips.com/ for all of your online poker shopping needs.

The Poker Store Online.
Poker Store

The Art of Bluffing

By Steven Derbyshire

The do's and don't of bluffing could fill a book on their own, but here are a few of the most crucial things to keep in mind:

- Avoid bluffing out heavy winners: they can afford to Call and usually do.

- Newbies are often desperate to know what you've got and they will call just for the sake of knowing.

- Veteran players play a clever game are analyzing your actions more closely and are often easier to bluff.

- Ask yourself how best your cards might look to the other players. Don't bluff without at least a bittie in your hand to make it look threatening.

- As a general rule bluffs have a better chance to work well at tight tables, and are pretty much doomed to failure at loose tables unless all the "loose players" have already folded.

- Good sense tells you that the more people you are seeking to bluff the less chance you have of it working. Remember your goal is for everyone to fold.

- Bluff from late position if possible. If everyone is checking calling or folding in front of you it's an ideal time to try and buy the pot. It's not advisable to bluff from early position because you have no hint as to who has hit their hand or been dealt killer cards.

- A lot of people would debate that to bluff with "outs" isn't a true bluff. But logic orders that you're better served bluffing when there is at the least an outside chance of you making a decent hand. This is also referred to as a "semibluff" and is made when there are still cards to come.
For instance you are dealt AK in a Texas Hold 'em game and the flop entirely misses you with a board showing J, T, these might constitute a good time to go ahead and bluff at the pot. You are representing a big pair or that you caught a piece of the flop, and your show of strength might prompt the rest of the table to fold, giving you the pot right there.

Even so, even if someone does call your bluff you have outs. An ace or king on the turn or river gives you top pair and if a queen hits you have the nut straight. Bluffing with "outs" simply means that even if the bluff does not work you're not completely beat

- So many people think that if they bluff a lot and play loose and crazy poker, it makes their bluffs harder since no one can ever be sure what they have. It in reality works the exact opposite. As anyone who's played long knows, bang-up cards don't come often so the chance that the wild player is holding trash is generally higher than the chance that he's got good cards. Therefore strong players almost always call crazy bluffers. On the other hand it's very difficult to call a person's bluff when they forever play good cards.

When you have the image of a strong player who casts off the trash cards, the other people at the table know that odds are you have good cards and to call the bluff is taking a big gamble. Play a good number of hands at any one table and build your table image before trying to bluff.

You'll have the chance to apply all your new found skills online in many venues.

Steven Derbyshire has been an avid Poker Player for over 15 years. If you can improve your hand reading ability you will improve your results at the poker table.

Here are some exercises to help improve your hand reading ability.

Importantly you will lose your money in some of these exercises so select lower limits. However, don't let the blind levels be so low that no one ever folds to a raise pre-flop.

1. Play a low blind limit poker cash game and raise every hand pre-flop. This will put you in a situation where the action and play revolves around you. You will feel the power of being in charge. It will also put you in the position of having to make difficult decisions.

2. Play in a small no-limit poker tournament and raise pre-flop once out of every three hands. Again you will see how players respond to you. You will learn to be creative and build your hand reading skills.

3. Watch a table of limit or no-limit poker for an hour and try to identify betting patterns and put players on hands. Think about how you would have played against players or what you would have done. This is easier to do online.

4. Do some player mapping. The next time you play in a tournament actually write down notes about your opponents, especially their betting patterns. See if they hold true and if it helps you to play better. Again, this is easier to do online.

As you get better at putting your opponents on hands, your poker results will also improve.

To find out how to improve you poker game get a Free Poker Evaluation at my http://www.apokerexpert.com Tournament Poker Book web site.

Mitchell Cogert is the author of "Tournament Poker: 101 Winning Moves." Why? because for good poker players poker is not a game of luck. For good poker players poker is a game of a lot of things like focus discipline intelligence psychology math patience the list goes on but one thing is for sure and it is the fact that luck is not one of the words on that list.

Ok so poker is a little bit of luck at certain moments perhaps but when you play poker with the intents to make money consistently than you have to think about the long run. In the long run the better poker player is always going to win more money. The better of a poker player you are the less luck there is involved. To be a good poker player and to decrease the limitations of luck you have to master the skills of psychology and mathematics.

Poker is a game of percentages. Calculating things called pot odds implied odds and outs are something that is essential to a winning poker player. When you watch poker on TV you will always notice that the screen always shows the chances that a player has of winning the hand percentage wise. When you play at the casino and you are in a hand against someone else and they are taking a long time to make a decision and they are talking to themselves they are usually calculating the odds in there heads. You have to become a human calculator to be a winning player and being able to do so is one of the keys to being successful in the long run the other one is psychology.

Knowing the math usually gives you the edge on other poker players but to decrease luck even more you have to master the psychology of poker. You have to be able to make tremendous reads on people and you have to make those reads by carefully evaluated every single move they make. If you just know the math and you are unable to play the "nitty gritty" of poker then you will be susceptible to being bluffed at a lot and it will result in folding a lot of winning hands. Poker isn't just about what cards you get, everybody gets cards at some point it's how you play those cards. You have to be able to make losing hands win and you have to be able to call people when you have the best hand. The better you become at doing this the more luck you take out of the game and the more skill you add to it.

There are two reasons people quit their jobs and become full time poker players. One of them is because there are great poker players out there that overcome luck with great amounts of skill and the other reason is because there are a lot of people that think they are good but actually just have gambling problems make sure you are not the latter of the two before you decide to play poker as a part time or full time job and make sure luck is not the main ingredient of your poker game.

Be sure to get all of the free Poker Tips and Poker Strategies you could ever need to improve your poker game.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Corry_Cummings
http://EzineArticles.com/?Is-Poker-a-Game-of-Luck?&id=1103430

Poker Store
Poker Store

Make Money Online With Poker

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_OpuAVLSKS34/R_padMWi0EI/AAAAAAAAAGQ/z4QFJDIdZEQ/s200/uk+poker+income.jpg" border="0" alt="make money with uk poker"id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5186557378449035330" />
By Gregory Walker

Everybody has heard about that guy that made millions on the internet or knows a friend of a friend that is making a nice amount of money online. It seems as though everyone else is finding a way of making money by sitting at their computers except for you. It would be great to do some work at your computer and see a monetary return on your efforts but how exactly are people making money online these days?

There are many ways to make money online but the most effective way is through online poker. Now there are two ways you can utilize online poker one of which you probably know about and another that will be fairly new to you.

1) You can make money by simply playing good poker at an online poker room, and outplaying your opponents to win money.

2) You can promote online poker, and get paid by the poker rooms by sending them players.

As you may have already known you can make money by playing online poker for real money. If you can outplay your opponents you will be able to consistently win more than you lose. Poker is a game that includes an element of luck but it also involved a large amount of skill. So by developing your ability you can take full advantage of the skill element of the game and win money from your opponents.

The second method of making money by promoting poker is probably a little unfamiliar to most. Little do people know that you can sign up as a poker affiliate (a person that promotes a poker room) and make money from the poker rooms by sending them players. This is a perfectly legitimate way to make money online yet it is something that most people are unfamiliar with.

The most effective way to make money as a poker affiliate is to set up your own website and include links pointing to the poker rooms that you affiliate for. These links have special trackers in them, so the room knows if a player visits the room from your site, so you can get paid for that player. All you have to do is create you website which is not nearly as hard as most people think and then work on getting as many people to visit your site as possible.

It may take a little effort at the start to learn how to make a website and such, but there is a lot of money to be made if you are successful. Most poker rooms will pay at least $100 for every player you send to the poker room which equals a lot of money if you can just send a handful of players a week. As poker affiliates become more successful, it is common for them to quit their jobs and become full time affiliates. There really is a lot of money involved in affiliating if you can learn the ropes.

There is no investment needed to get started up as a poker affiliate all you need to do is learn how to set up your website and you are away. All the information is out there to help you get going all you need to do is find it and learn it.

Who knows maybe this time next year you could be a full time poker affiliate making more in a month than you currently make in a year there is no harm in giving it a try after all you have nothing to lose.

Find out more about making money online with the author's poker affiliate website. View the top poker affiliate programs on offer and see how much money you could be making by promoting online poker rooms.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Gregory_Walker
http://EzineArticles.com/?Make-Money-Online-With-Poker&id=1080122

Poker Store
Poker Store

The No Limit Texas Holdem Burgundy Cloth Poker Table

<img style="float:left; If you do either you have an increased possibility that somebody will have something better than you and will take your chips away from you. Bluffing when chasing cards yourself is not advisable.

Say you have J T and the flop comes 9, K, A. You need a Q to make a straight. The odds are very much against you so why bother wasting chips chasing the Q. OK you'll get lucky from time to time and the Q will come but much more often that not it won't.

So when might be a good time to bluff? Tricky question. Possible scenarios may be if you are in late position pre-flop with just a couple of players limping in (calling, not raising) or you are last to act post-flop and everyone has checked before you. Throwing out a reasonable raise to "pretend" you have a great hand might convince your opponents you really do and cause them to fold.

For example - post-flop there is a potential flush showing. Players acting before you do check so you think they can't have made the flush. Pretending you HAVE made it with a bluff-raise might take the pot for you on the spot. If not and somebody calls your raise or re-raises you the likelihood now is that they really do have the flush. You can fold and still be alive. Sure you've been caught bluffing it will happen.

Learn how to make $968 dollars a day playing poker at http://www.bigpokersites.com/pokersystems.html

Learn to pick up any woman at http://www.datingwar.com

Free Online Dating: http://www.Daterade.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Michael_Renallo
http://EzineArticles.com/?Poker-Tips---The-Right-Way-to-Bluff-an-Opponent&id=1013252

Poker Store

Sexy Celeb Poker
Poker Store

Combat Poker - Heads Up Games

By Archie Long

Number one when you play heads up you don't have to have the best hand to win you just need to make the other person fold. Aggression is key you can not win if you are only willing to check and call and you are only willing to put money in the pot when you have a great hand. You need to use your position and keep the pressure on the other person to make a hand.

Number two you need to play the other person's hand as much as you are playing your own this frees you up so you are better able to see spots to bluff. Remember to win all you have to do is make the other guy fold. What difference does it make if you bet with nothing and win or if you bet with the nuts and win? In every single hand one of the two of you will win. A vast majority of the time neither one of you will have much of a hand pre-flop or on the flop. The person who is more aggressive has a huge advantage because it forces the other guy to have to call and make a hand to win. If he checks on the flop that should be an automatic bet. If he raises you can always fold but you can't give him free cards if you have position.

Number three try not to look at the flop in the same way you would at a full table. If you had middle pair at a full table you would feel very good about it. In a heads up game if you have middle pair you are doing really well. The strength of hands goes way down in value. If you have position (are on the button) and you are going to play you almost always come in for a raise. Don't just call. If the other guy is playing every single hand then you will also need to play every hand. Use your position and make sure to make him pay pre-flop when you have a decent hand.

Lastly although I may be hard to get a handle on how someone else plays if you aren't playing with them very much do your best. Heads up poker is much more of a person to person game then ring games are. You really are trying to get inside the other guy's head so you can put his play into context and make the right moves. You want an idea of what he raises you with pre-flop how he plays it post-flop if he actually has it or not and so on.

Archie Long has been playing online poker since it was introduced in 1998. Online poker rooms have become an instant hit with the spread of the Internet. The revenues from online poker are estimated to run into a few billion dollars annually. Considering there is a ban in the US on online gambling, it comes as no surprise that many of these online poker players are from the UK.

In keeping with the global nature of the game, a number of online poker rooms accept wagers in Pounds Sterling. Apart from the fact that players from the UK make payments in a different currency, there is not much difference as far as the game is concerned. There are many sites that accept players from the UK, including Pacific Poker, Coral Poker, VC Poker, Betfair Poker, William Hill Poker, Paradise Poker, VC Poker, Intercasino, and many more...

These sites, and a large number of others that have not found mention here, are known for their fairness and reliability. The atmosphere and the graphics of these online poker rooms are classy. The sites compete fiercely with one another to woo customers. This works to the advantage of the players simply because they get better bonuses and freebies as each poker room tries to outdo the other.

However, trying to choose the top UK online poker room can be a little intimidating, simply because of the choice of good sites that are available. One thing is true for sure, the UK poker player never had it so good when it comes to playing online poker, and it does seem like the good days are here to stay.

If you're looking for interesting information Online Poker Rooms, we recommend UK Poker Guide where you'll find poker room reviews and hot bonus offers.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Nicolaus_Venator
http://EzineArticles.com/?Online-Poker-For-UKs-Poker-Players&id=823433

Poker Store

Sit-N-Go-Pro
Poker Store

8 Top Tips for Becoming a Professional Gambler in Horse Racing, Poker and Other Sports

Most folk are under the opinion that professional gamblers have one bet, play one game of poker, or some other form of gambling, and then collect the winnings and go back to their big mansion for a few months rest, before having another gamble!!

I pray it was like that, but in real life it is vastly different. I personally work 10-12 hours a day, 360 days a year, and still do a bit on the days off, including Christmas day. When you see professional poker players they are spending 3-5 days at a table in a game every week, sometimes sitting for 12 hours, and when they are not doing that they are at home playing poker on the computer.

So if you are looking for a relaxing life do not take up betting as a profession. Yes it can pay well, very well but you need to put in a lot of work, and it can be 2-3 years before you are making any meaningful hard cash. Anyone who tells you otherwise is possibly lying.

When you see advertisers stating things like "We made $26,000 to $100 stakes in the last 12 months", it looks sensational. However, they need to receive your attention as a 1/8th ad in a paper costs around $500 and they need that money back before turning a profit. And how innumerable average gamblers have $100 to bet, especially when you need a betting bank and with $100 stakes the cash you need before you even place one bet is around $3,500 any less and you can easily blow it all. Then divide the $26,000 by the $100 to work out how many points you make a year and that is 260, then divide by 52 to see how numerous points profit a week and that comes to 5pts a week. Wow!! If you are just starting off you are likely to only be using a realistic $5 so that is $25 a week average. That may not sound much but you have to learn to walk before you can run. If you cannot profit with 10c bets how the hell will you profit with $100 bets?

Also think why various tipsters advertise every day. This is because they have such a considerable turnover they need to keep replenishing the customer base. This does not always mean the tipster is rubbish in some cases they may be profitable long term but the average Joe Punter always wants profit NOW and every day and average Joe points more than 5 points per week whereas a full time professional would be happy with that.

If you are going to gamble to profit, then for the inaugural few months this should be your conditioning were you will be doing a lot of work for little return but you will also learn how to handle losing runs how to cope with mistakes and if it does all go improper and you lose the betting bank, you should have learnt a lot from it for as little loss as possible as you should only ever bet what you can afford to lose especially while proving to yourself you can profit. You may have a spare $10,000 available but prove you can profit with a $1000 bank maiden and then add to the bank monthly.

So here are the 8 tips you need to learn and stick to religiously if you want to stand a chance of ever making money from gambling.

1. Patience: If you want big profits now, try the lottery. Building up your betting banks takes time, a lot of time.

2. Betting Banks: If you do not have a betting bank to emergence with and you are just betting from whatever is in your pocket, you will never make a profit. It is as simple as that. Most punters lie to themselves that they are breaking even do not do that be truthful.

3. Staking: You see betting plans for sale on EBay, most of them may make you a few dollars quickly but it is 100% guaranteed they will bust your bank as these are designed by amateurs who have no understanding of gambling maths in the real world. Always onset with levels, if you cannot make hard cash with that simple staking plan you will not make bankroll with anything more complicated. Once you have proven over a few months you can turn a profit with level stakes, and then you can switch to each bet being between 1%-3% of the bank. Most professionals will emergence at 3%, but get it down to 1% as the bank grows.

4. Bank Management: Managing banks is not just staking, it also involves listing every bet on a spreadsheet so you can monitor things like average odds, strike rate, losing runs etc. If you do not list every bet you will have no idea where you stand and no way of having data to look back and learn from.

5. Risk Management: Most people follow one tipster, or one system. This is usually suicide you do not see the big boys in the city markets investing everything in one stock do you? No they spread it around and so should you. Use a number of systems, proven tipsters, method bets, etc. And ensure you have a separate betting bank for each (you can use the same betting account as the spreadsheets you keep will tell you the amount which is in each bank).

6. Alcohol: NEVER drink while betting, you will bet more than you should you will bust banks you will play bets you would never do when sober.

7. Forums: Join a forum where you can bite ideas this can prove a powerful aid but make sure it is a decent one and not full of idiots just spouting off how good they are!

8. Fun Bets: You are often told not to do any 'fun bets' if you wish to turn professional, but this will not happen as it is hard to break old habits at first. The best way to treat fun bets is to handle them as you would any pro bets. I also used this product to verify it's claims as best I could.
Check out the product!
Sit-N-Go-Pro
I was poking around seeing what the latest tools were that people were
using and tripped across this tool called "Sit-N-Go
Pro". At first I thought it was probably just another poker e-book
that rehashes the same old stuff until I looked further.
Their website claims it's a "Fool-Proof SNG Poker System" and says it
actually enables people to make over $1,200 per night!
Sit-N-Go-Pro
Well, I was totally skeptical after seeing this claim but given my
experience in this area with poker products and my hobby at reviewing
them and staying atop of the state-of-the-art and keeping everyone
informed is important I felt compelled to become familiar with it and
see for myself. So I went ahead and bought it for $97.
This product actually DELIVERS what it claims to it comes with 4 instructional videos that detail exactly what to do and how to play in these tournamnets to make money.
Videos are better than an e-book as it's easier for many people to
learn by watching rather than just reading however, it also comes
with a handbook that's very useful, as well. The videos just streamed
down to my PC right away so I was able to get started immediately.
If you came across this product looking for a fool proof system to
cash-in at the game of Texas Holdem then this poker system is for you! No
other poker-related product offers such valuable, in-depth, unique and
absolutely NO BS insight into killing Sit and Go Tournaments.
Sit-N-Go-Pro

All the best,

Phil Scurrah

Sit-N-Go-Pro

Poker Store
Poker Store

The Smart Rookie Poker Player

Trying to have some luck on a casino table is not just mere sitting on a comfortable chair watching the cards to be laid down. Watch out, they will dig every single penny in your pocket.

There are techniques for us to disguise and go along with these master-poker players undetermined.

Be observant

An example mistake a rookie commits is the string betting – a player call a bet and then make a raise. Then followed by familiar action indicating that you are a rookie player. These actions will then use by the matured poker player to take advantage of you during the game. Within the thoughts of this seasoned poker player, he/she is laughing at you and the same time, use some strategies unfamiliar to you through out the game.

The traditional pattern in calling a bet - announce that you are going to raise first before pushing your bet, anticipating the possible raise your opponent might call. Chain reactions will occur. Chances are, you will not be treated as rookie poker player.

Control Your Emotions

A seasoned poker player will determine if your card standing is good or not just by way of body language through emotions and facial expressions you are showing a seasoned poker player will know if you will raise a bet or not this is a disadvantage on your part and an advantage to your opponent.

Incidentally a rookie poker player will manifest a familiar facial expression on the first time he looks on his cards the expression that will manifest on your face will show telling to your opponent if you have good or not good enough cards to bet on.

Furthermore the first time you look at your cards and you become happy it shows that you have nice cards to compete within for that round but if you frown and seem displeased then it shows that you don’t have good cards to play with additionally you are announcing the status of your cards.

Every veteran on the table can pick a hint on your actions these actions will be used against you even the smallest action of the hand will manifest during the game expressing something giving additional hints about your cards whether they are competitive or not.

These seasoned poker players knew everything within or around the table a manifestation of a simple hint of advantage will be of great deal to them in fact they are patient in waiting for these hints furthermore they knew every player they had competed before and also remember some anecdotes that had been shown during the game.

Every person who succeeded in his or her chosen endeavor had worked hard for it they exerted extraordinary effort and sacrifices in the poker game the word lucky is always mentioned because the luck depends on the cards you receive yet there are strategies for us to win the game.

You as a poker rookie should remember the ROI (return on investment) that being new in the game, you will loose on the first, second or even on the following game. The same scenario, its just like you are investing on it. On the following games, you will surely win because you’ve learned already the proper protocol of the game.

Although these things don’t assure the possibility that you will loss or win the game, the best thing to do in a first-time situation is to take precaution. Every opponent is looking a point for him to take advantage of the other. Be smart and be the first to find that hole.

About The Author

Roxel Pudol maintains the following sites: http://www.hk0.org, http://www.zz0.org, and <a href="http://www.cpayscom2online-casino.com. You have to be extremely careful playing these big hands in a low-limit game. While these hands are some of the strongest hands in the game and often work wonders in no-limit Hold'em, playing them in low-limit Hold'em is often more difficult and frustrating. Let's say you make an early position raise looking down at KK. There are 5 players that call the raise and you hit a flop of 10dJsQs. Are you holding an over pair? Why yes, you are. Beware. This type of flop is deadly for KK in a low-limit Hold'em game. Loose low-limit players will frequently call raises with hands like 10J, JQ, 10Q, without hesitating. You're looking down at an over pair and an open ended straight draw, but you're probably already behind in this hand with that many pre-flop players. Loose players enjoy calling pre-flop raises with any type of face card in their hand, so look out. At this point, even if you hit a K to make trips, it's quite possible another player is holding an Ace or even a 9 to make a straight. The bottom line is: when it comes down to playing these big hands at a low-limit table, play them carefully. Whatever you do, don't just bet and raise the entire table as much as possible simply because you're looking at AA.

Raising From Late Position
The final topic I'm going to discuss in this article is making raises in late position at a low-limit Hold'em table. If you're in late position, the table limps around to you, and you look down to see AK, it's a given that you're probably going to raise the pot. However, what if 6 players limp before you and you look down in late position to see 6s7s, what action do you take? An interesting strategy here is to raise this pot. In a low-limit Hold'em game, about 95% of the players who limp in pre-flop will also call a pre-flop raise from a player in later position than themselves. This means that in a $3/$6 limit Hold'em game, if 6 players limp in before you for $3, then you raise to $6 as the last to act, the pot will most likely be $42 plus the original blinds. All of a sudden you've created a massive pre-flop pot for a $3/$6 game with a mediocre hand. It can often be profitable in a low-limit Hold'em game to raise with hands that play well in multi-way pots from late position, fully aware that the majority of the table will see the flop with you. Let's say you're holding the 6s7s, all 6 other players call your raise, and the flop is Ks10h2c. Bingo? No, not really. You've completely missed this flop, but guess what? This will be the easiest fold you've ever made. When playing hands like the 6s7s from late position with a raise and a large number of callers, you'll be surprised at how often you'll make a big hand. Lots of the loose callers will be playing hands like A3, A10, JQ, K10, and will often be sharing a large number of cards, giving you more opportunity to make a winner. Next time you find yourself in late position at a loose table with a good multi-way hand, try throwing in a raise and record your results. Just remember to not chase these hands when you don't hit them very well. It's merely cost you $6 to build a large $3/$6 pot, highly increasing your pot odds to make a big hand. You only have $6 invested so there is no use in chasing any 1 or 2 outer. You've simply built another player a large pot, which should all be coming back to you in the end either way.

This article was provided by The Free Poker Room

Start playing at Pacific Poker today and receive a 25% first deposit bonus, up to $100!
Poker Store

Making Adjustments Changing Strategy in Low Limit Texas Hold'em

With the rising popularity in the game of poker, casinos and online cardrooms have become packed with new players over the past few years. With new players coming to the tables, older players often get frustrated when losing to players who aren't "playing by the book." If I had a chip for every time I heard a low-limit player complaining about being out drawn when their AA lost to XX, I'd be living the dream. This article discusses a few advanced strategies for low-limit players on adjusting their game to the ever increasing number of new players and loose play.

Before beginning, we will note that this article is focused on limit Texas Hold'em games, $5/$10 and under. Most casinos host a large span of cheaper games like $2/$4, $3/$6, $4/8, and $5/10, which are all considered low limit Hold'em games. It's at these tables that you'll often encounter new and reckless players. Look at these players as an opportunity to produce positive gain, not an opportunity to be drawn out on all night.

Making Observations
The first and most important step in adjusting your poker game to low-limit play is to make observations. Within your first 10 minutes at the table you should have a fairly good idea of what the table play is like. In most low-limit games, you're going to come across extremely loose and reckless players. For an example, we will pretend we just sat down at a full nine person $3/$6 limit Texas Hold'em table. Before coming in with any mediocre hands in the first 10-20 minutes, slow down and spend time observing the players at the table. If a player in early position makes a standard pre-flop raise and 6 other players are seeing the flop with him, you know you're playing low-limit. This table is definitely full of loose and careless players. However, if a pre-flop raise is made and generally 2-3 players are seeing the flop, you've found a tighter low-limit game, which we will not be covering today. Make sure you don't base your observations on simply paying attention to the table patterns of one hand. It will take a number of hands to successfully identify the people you are playing with. Don't forget to remain observant throughout the entire hand. Carefully pay attention to the hands your opponents are turning over during the showdown because this will greatly help you judge exactly how loose the other players are. If players are calling raises with 10Jo from early position and seeing them down, you should be in for a good night.

Bet When It Hits
One concept the majority of low-limit players don't understand is what I call "Bet When It Hits." New players and reckless players are usually not very sneaky with their betting patterns. These type of players like to hold on to any type of draw and often any Ace in their hand. Let's say you're holding 99 to a flop of 357. So far you're feeling pretty good. The table checks around to you and you make the standard bet. The majority of the players give you a call. The turn brings the Ac and a player from early position leads out and bets. Do you actually think this new player is slow playing a set of 5s or a 7 high straight and betting it on the turn as opposed to check raising the entire table? No, most likely not. The more likely answer is he's holding something like A8 and clinching to the Ace for dear life. Well this hand, he probably hit it. Even if he hasn't hit it, in a multi-way pot, another loose player probably did. I refer to this concept as "Bet When It Hits" because the majority of new players lead out and bet out of no where when they hit the miracle card they were looking for. Some low-limit players will merely get frustrated and call the player down, only to donate to a donkey. If you call $6 on the turn and another $6 on the river for a hand you figure is losing to the Ace on the turn, you're just throwing your money away. The key to winning at low-limit Hold'em is escaping from these little costly traps when you know you have a losing hand. Paying off loose and uneducated players here and there quickly adds up to a long night of breakeven or even a night of loss. Pay attention and don't fall into these traps.

This article was provided by The Free Poker Room

Start playing at Pacific Poker today and receive a 25% first deposit bonus, up to $100!

Pacific Poker
Poker Store

Poker .com Review

Before you start playing at your regular poker site or if you want to start at an `easy to play' poker site go and have a look at www.poker.com
One of the biggest attractions of poker is that you play with other real people matching their skills and wits against each other.
A real buzz to those of you who prefer that, to playing the odds against the house, as in many other casino games.
You will find a very new and graphic software.
www.poker.com have developed it themselves using their industry experience and listening and understanding what the players want.
www.poker.com have made it easy to download and play they make full use of Macromedia's Flash download for great, realistic sound and graphics.
In developing the software themselves they have not only addressed players' desires but created virtual poker rooms and tables with graphic displays of reality.you can almost smell the beige and the perfumed ladies. Why? Poker tournaments, my friends and the game they play is called Texas Hold ‘Em. But can anyone learn how to play like the pro's on T.V.? Is it so effortless and easy as it appears? Let's take a look at some of the little things that can make or break you at the poker table.

Does poker require luck or skill? Some play the game and seem to hit every card needed for the winning hand. Others, with a hand that could not beat any hand on the table, slyly walk away with the pot and a wink and a smile.

So the answer to the question it would seem would be that it is a little bit of both; luck and skill are needed to be a successful poker player. After all, gambling is a game of chance.

But consider this: some mathematicians contend that the odds of getting a royal flush are 1 in 649,739. So, given those odds, chances are if you rely on the luck of the draw you will definitely lose more than you will win.

So how do you become an experienced poker player and win all the time? Well you can become an experienced poker player but, alas; you won't win all the time. Poker does require skill and the old adage, know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em certainly has a ring of truth to it. Furthermore, you must factor in the skill level of the players at the table, your bluffing and betting skills, the stakes involved and of course, luck.

Here are some important tips for the successful poker player:

Do not gamble if you cannot afford to lose. People lose a lot of money due to lack of planning and some gamble way over their heads because they don't know when to stop. Pick an amount to play with and stick to it. Additionally, do not borrow money to gamble, you just add more pressure upon yourself having to bet with borrowed funds. Allocate a budget and stick to it!

If you are serious about winning, avoid alcohol. You may make bets that you would not normally make. Play with a clear head.

Don't play if you are stressed out or emotional because not being in the right frame of mind can cost you big at the poker table. Play with focus. If your mind is preoccupied with other problems, your judgment will suffer and you open yourself up for critical mistakes.

Study your opponents and define who they are and how they play the game. You may have to adjust to their style of play. Do not be intimidated by the aggressive nature of a particular player or the passiveness of another.

Don't wait on cards, they usually don't come. Don't be afraid to fold the poor hand. Poker is a time consuming game and you aren't dealt a winner every time.

Display a "poker face". Your expressions and mannerisms can tell a lot about your hand, even to the most inexperienced players. Whether you have good cards or a terrible hand, it is best to display the same emotion and not convey any clues to the other players. Conversely, if you are a seasoned player, you can use this "poker face" style to your advantage to project false "tells" to other players and force false reads on their part. You could pretend to have a powerful hand by aggressive betting, table antics or talk and pull off a successful bluff.

Patience is the key and you have to know when to bet. Be knowledgeable as to when to bet and get a feel for the game. Bet wisely and in control. Bear in mind that bluffing will not work if you are a poor player and expert players will eventually sense this and pick you apart, making your night a short one.

Practice! Practice with low stakes games, hand held games or play for fun as you refine your game and skills. Read articles, books and ask other players about the game and different situations that might occur.

There are thousands of poker books written with tips, guidelines, rules and regulations but the important aspect to remember is your poker strategy and your game. If so, you probably get together with your friends a couple times a week in order to compete. Even though this can be a lot of fun, it may not allow you to get your fill. If this sounds like a problem that you are having, the best thing you can do is look into online poker. This may seem a bit out of the ordinary, but the fact of the matter is that online poker has become quite popular. It may not be exactly the same as playing in person, but there are many benefits that you can take advantage of.

The most obvious reason to play online poker is that you will be able to take part in games whenever you want. Even if it is the middle of the night you can sign into your account and play a couple of hands. Since online poker has become so popular there are people from all over the world that play. This means that anytime you want to get in a game you can; no questions asked. This is something that definitely does not hold true if you are used to only playing with your friends.

Another huge benefit of online poker is that you can test your skills against the best of the best. When you play against your friends every week things can get easy because you know their habits and style. But when you play online poker you will always be matched up against new players that will be challenging you. This may be a bit intimidating at first, but over time you will grow to become used to it. In no time at all, the top notch competition will turn you into a better player. And of course this will turn into more money in your pocket.

And do not forget about the money that you can win with online poker. Even though you can win a lot of money playing at land based casinos, this is not a viable option for every poker player. When you play online poker you will be able to win in two different ways. You can simply join an online poker room and play a couple of hands. Or you can buy into a tournament; this is where the big money can be made. There are some online tournaments that offer payouts in the tens of thousands of dollars. Can you imagine winning that pot?

All of these benefits are for not if you do not know where to play. Luckily, there is a lot of help online. You can choose an online poker service by researching on your own, or you can get help from a third party site such as www.onlyprofitgambling.com. When you rely on a third party site you will be able to get a lot of information on different services, as well as their pros and cons.

If you like to play poker and have not taken advantage of the online version, you may want to do so today.

About The Author

James Black
Bringing you the Best Casino Information
http://www.onlyprofitgambling.com

$250 sign up bonus with Betfred

Poker Store

Texas Holdem Strategy - Poker Terminology

For all you new players out there that are just getting in to poker, here’s a list of common poker terms that you will need to know. These terms are good both online and in a normal card game with your buddies.

Limit Poker: This is poker with set limits. For example, a 1 dollar/2 dollar limit Holdem game only allows a raise a maximum of 2 dollars at a time before the flop until the river. This is the opposite of no limit Holdem where a player can raise any amount at any time.

Blind (Small blind/big blind): These are the ante for Texas Holdem Poker. The two players the left of the dealer must place the pre-determined amount before they have a chance to see the cards. If there is a raise and either of these players fail to call, their blind is forfeited.

Flop: this is the first three cards that are turned over after all bets have been made and or called.

Turn: This is the 4th card to be revealed in a game of Texas Holdem.

River: This is the last card to be revealed in a game of Texas Holdem.

Board Cards: These are the cards on the table that all players share and use to make their hands.

Position (early and late): This is where you are seated in comparison to the dealer button. Early position is the spot right after the big blind and strategically has the worst position on the board because this position must call before he knows what the other players will do. Late position is on or near the dealer button and is considered the best position because you get to see how the other players will act before you make a decision whether to play your hand or not.

Pre-flop: This is when all you have is the 2 cards in your hand and the cards on there have not been any community cards revealed.

Draw: A player is said to be on a draw if a player calls a bet in hopes that the next card will give him the winning hand. For example if a player has QK in his hand and the flop is 10 Jack 2, and the player calls a bet in hopes of a 9 or an Ace.

Outs: This is the number of cards that a player could draw in order to produce the winning hand. If the flop is QJ2 and a player has 10 9, he needs either a King or an 8 in order to complete a straight. There are 4 Kings and 4 eights in the deck leaving a total of 8 outs to make a straight.

Pot Odds: This is the ratio of how large of a bet you must call to the size of the pot. If you are clearly behind in a hand but your opponent bets 1 dollar at a 100 dollar pot. It is worth risking one more dollar to see the next card that might win you a 100. But say your opponent bet 120 dollars at a hundred dollar pot, and you don’t have a hand, it is not worth calling 120 dollars to see the next card.

Shorthand: This is a game of poker that has less than 6 players.

Longhand: This is a game that has at least seven players involved.

If you are new to online poker, don't just jump in to high-stakes games. Start out at the free or small blind tables and progress up to higher stakes as you become more comfortable with the game. Some good sites for not only playing normal cash games, but also small nickle blind and free tables is http://UltimateBet.com and http://PartyPoker.com. Although you cannot physically see the opponent, there are many different things your opponent can do to give away his hand. A few things to look for are:

• The Whiner

When a person gets beat by a dumb play by his opponent, drawn out on, or completely bluffed, keep an eye on the chat box. Most of the time the player will type obscenities into the box or engage in a heated argument with his opponent. Keep an eye on which players are “chatting” and keep a note on how frustrated they are. If a player continues to complain through several hands they are obviously frustrated to the point where their actions will become irrational and detrimental to their game. In other words, on tilt. A good way to make some money when a player is on tilt is to wait for a strong hand then bet it weak. The player on tilt will then raise you trying to steal the pot. I like to just call and then check, where the tilting player will bet even larger to compensate for his last bet. All you have to do now is put him all in and 9 times out of 10 he will call out of frustration.

• The Thinker

Most of the time when a player takes a long time to act they are trying to represent more strength than they actually have. They want you to believe that they are considering raising so that you wont. Sometimes more advanced players will take a long time when they have a strong hand to provoke a bet to steal the pot. Be sure to take note of any players using this tactic and be cautious when this situation arises with them.

• Raise Raise Fold

Another way to tell if a player is on tilt is if he frequently raises pre-flop then folds at the first bet or a raise to his own bet

• Betting the Turn

Frequently in online Holdem, if a checks then calls on the flop, but then bets out at you on the turn it is typically a signal that they missed their draw and are taking a stab at the pot. Re-raise them.

• Consistently Slow to Act

It is also worth mentioning that sometimes when players consistently take a long time to act, they are usually involved in multiple tables. This type of player will typically fold to most bluffs because he is simply playing odds and premium hands. However if this player calls or raises you, be ready to lay your hand down.

Although poker has to do with odds and calculated guesses, it also has a lot to do with your opponent. The more you watch your opponent and know what he does in certain situations the better chances you have at making good calls and taking his money. Some good sites for not only playing normal cash games, but also small nickle blind and free tables is http://UltimateBet.com and http://PartyPoker.com. Yes, the rules are easy to learn. However, poker is a multi-faceted game. This means that it takes more than knowledge of the rules to walk away from the table a winner.

To excel in poker, a player must know about the other aspects of the game. A winning player must be adept at “reading the opponents” or “knowing the odds” or “money management.” However, there is one strategy that is most important and stands above all the rest. This one strategy must be learned early on and must continually be honed and improved to win.

This strategy is called “bluffing.” Bluffing is the act of betting a weak hand with the intent of driving the other players out of the pot.

There are different types of bluffing. One form is betting with a hopeless hand (or a powerhouse hand with the intent to lure the other players into a trap). Another form is betting on the inexpensive betting rounds to get a free card later on in the hand when the cost of bets doubles.

Yet another form is semi-bluffing, which is betting with a hand that has a chance to outdraw the other hands, but probably is not the best hand. With a semi-bluff, the player can win by causing the other players to fold, or if the opponent calls, the bluffer may catch the card he needs.

As mentioned, bluffing itself has many strategies. It may seem confusing how a beginner may start to master this strategy. The best way is to learn general rules and tips. A beginner can then come to the table with a good foundation for bluffing and winning.

Here are the top 10 tips on how to bluff.

1) Limit bluffing against one or two opponents at the most.

2) Getting caught bluffing can work out in your favor, especially if you can get opponents to call when you do have a strong hand.

3) Avoid bluffs against experts or novices. Experts can see through bluffs, and novices just keep calling.

4) Only bluff if there’s a chance to succeed, rather than to just advertise. Bluffing is not 100% successful, so bluffs can be picked off no matter how much of an expert you are.

5) Do not bluff on a hopeless hand when there are cards still to come. In those cases, you can semi-bluff to get the opponents to fold or hope that you can draw a card that will give you a strong hand.

6) A good time to bluff is when all your opponents checked on the previous betting round.

7) Bluffs that represent specific hands (flush, straight, etc) have a higher chance of succeeding.

8) Bluffing against players who checked the previous round is easier to bluff against than those who bet.

9) A players seen as selective and aggressive will have a good chance of succeeding in a bluff.

10) You can attempt to bluff with nothing, but if you have enough to beat a draw, save the bet and try to win in a showdown.

Remember that mastering the strategy of bluffing is an ongoing endeavor. Find more resources and learn from other players. Bluffing is definitely one of the most important strategies that a poker player must utilize.

About The Author

Darren Takenaga offers more tips and strategies for winning Texas Hold ‘Em poker at his website.
